Dr. Luke Darville began playing cello with the Heritage Area String Program in Danville, KY. He received his Bachelor of Music from the University of Louisville, where he co-founded the Apolo Piano Trio, which has toured internationally. While at U of L, Luke was the two-time winner of the Concerto Competition performing the Elgar’s Cello Concerto and Bloch's Schelomo. Luke received his Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Minnesota, where he attended as a Berneking Fellow. Luke has taught Cello and String Bass at the University of Minnesota Morris; Cello and Piano at Mt. Calvary Music Academy, and has held a private studio for 12 years. Luke has performed with orchestras throughout West Texas, South Dakota, Minnesota and has been an active Teaching Artist for the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. During the summers, Dr. Darville has been on faculty at Festival of Strings in Lexington, KY, an artist in residence in Lexington’s Chamber Music July Series, and artist in residence at Oskaloosa Chamber Music Festival in Iowa. Luke and his wife Sila perform regularly as a professional Violin/Cello duo, which has received international acclaim. Luke has received awards from Schubert Music Club Competition and the Macauley Competition. Dr. Darville is currently the Director of Orchestra at Western Middle School for the Arts in Louisville, KY. He is also visiting instructor of Cello and String Bass at Centre College. His cello was crafted by the American luthier Timothy J. Jansma. He has had the privilege of studying with Dr. Clyde Beavers, Prof. Paul York, and Prof. Tanya Remenikova.

Born in Ankara, Turkey, Dr. Sila Darville started her music studies at ‘Bilkent University, Faculty of Music and Performing Arts, Music Preparatory School’, won the 2nd prize in ‘Edirne International Rotary Club, International Competition for young Musicians’ in 2000. She has received her Bachelor’s degree from ‘Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory’ in Istanbul as School Valedictorian. While pursuing her degree, she studied at ‘The Royal Conservatoire of the Hague’ in the Netherlands for a year. She won the Turkish Educational Foundation scholarship for ‘Outstanding Achievement’ in 2009. Represented Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University State Conservatory in ‘Opus Erasmus, Créations pour les jeunes Musiciens in Boulogne-Billancourt, France in Spring 2011. She performed Shostakovich’s Violin Concerto no.1 op.77 with the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Orchestra. Sila received her Master of Music from the University of Minnesota where she studied with renowned Prof. Sally O’Reilly. She received awards from Thursday Musical Young Artist Scholarship Competition and Schubert Club Scholarship Competition. Sila completed her Doctor of Musical Arts as Dr. John. H. Gilbert's Assistant at Texas Tech University. She is the Principal Second Violin of the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra. Sila and her husband perform regularly as a professional Violin/Cello duo, which has received international acclaim.
